Introducing Beacon 2.0
A faster query engine, a redesigned trace viewer, and pricing that finally makes sense.

Today we're shipping Beacon 2.0, the biggest release since launch. It's the result of a year of feedback from teams running Beacon in production, and it touches almost every part of the product.
A new query engine
Queries over 30 days of traces now return in under a second at the 95th percentile. We rewrote the storage layer around columnar segments and moved aggregation to the edge, so results stream in as they're computed.
Trace viewer, redesigned
The waterfall view now collapses noisy spans by default, highlights the critical path, and lets you jump straight from a slow span to the logs emitted during it.
Simpler pricing
One plan, one number. Read the pricing page for details. Existing customers are automatically moved to the plan that's cheapest for them.
Beacon 2.0 is the first observability upgrade that made our bill go down.
Thanks to everyone who tested the beta. Upgrade instructions are in the docs, and as always, tell us what breaks.
